SYCAMORE – Eugene Arthur Cicci, 75, of Sycamore Ill., passed away Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2014, at Kishwaukee Hospital, DeKalb.|
Born Sept. 24, 1938 in LaSalle, the son of Arthur and Elizabeth (Rosenkranz) Cicci, Eugene married Patricia Ann Smith on Sept. 8, 1962, in Spring Valley.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy from 1956-59, having served the Submarine Service, aboard the USS Sailfish. He was a member of Christ the Teacher Parish, DeKalb. He worked for more than 31 years at Caterpillar in Montgomery.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia; children, Joseph (Tina) Cicci of Joliet, Carolyn Cicci of Oshkosh, Wis., Elizabeth (Josh) Arnold of Los Angeles, Calif., and Kate (Greg) Johnson of Elburn; grandchildren, Samantha Cicci, Amanda Brunswick, Tyler Cicci and Aleka Arnold; siblings, Carole Niejadlik of Flagstaff, Ariz., Jerry Cicci of Las Vegas, Nev., and Mary Beth (Bruce) Brantner of LaSalle; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Elaine.
The memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 6, at Christ the Teacher Parish, 512 Normal Road, DeKalb, with Fr. Matt McMorrow celebrating and with full military honors by the DeKalb County Honor Guard following. Burial of cremated remains will be at a later date. Cremation is by Anderson Funeral Home Crematory.
