Margie K. Holliday, 98, of DeKalb, died peacefully Monday, January 7, 2019 at DeKalb Rehab and Nursing Center in DeKalb. She was born July 1, 1920 in Anderson County, Kentucky and was the daughter of Dalayce and Eva (Stratton) Beasley.

Margie married William H. Holliday in Kentucky and later they moved to DeKalb where they raised their two boys. She worked at G.E. for 38 years and one of her fondest memories was the day Ronald Reagan made a visit. She loved to play golf in the G.E., Buena Vista and River Heights Women's Leagues. Margie and William were founding members of Victory Baptist Church in DeKalb and attended there for many years.

Margie loved crocheting and sewing. She made many beautiful afghans and clothes for her family and friends. Her family was her first priority, she loved babysitting and taking her grandkids on outings in the community.

Survivors include; son; Dean (Connie) Holliday of DeKalb; daughter-in-law, Mildred Holliday of Kentucky; and sister, Vertie Lambert of Kentucky. Grandchildren, Steve (Marj) Holliday, Jeffrey (Mary Anne) Holliday, David (Amber) Holliday, Debbie (Mark) Sult, Robert (Kelly) Holliday, and Kristy (Brian) Glass. Numerous great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William; son, Bob; granddaughter, Cindy; and numerous brothers and sisters.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at 10:30am at Finch Funeral Home in DeKalb with Pastor Kevin Spears officiating whom she worshipped with at the nursing home. Burial will take place immediately following the service at Fairview Park Cemetery in DeKalb. Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at 9:00am until the time of service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the family to be established at a later date.
