KINGSTON – Robert F. Clark, 67, of Kingston, Ill., died Monday, Jan. 20, 2014, at Vista Medical Center East in Waukegan.|
Born Dec. 19, 1946, in DeKalb, the son of Alfred F. and Anna Christine (Paulsen) Clark, he married Marsha Padgett Abbott on Feb. 19, 1972, in Genoa.
He worked for the State of Illinois Highway Department for eight years. Robert served in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of Faith World Outreach Church in Bartlett.
He loved his grandchildren, tinkering in his garage, he was always busy and could fix anything. He also enjoyed leatherwork and was a jokester and loved telling jokes. He had an unshakeable faith in God and was always reading the Bible; he knew where he was going.
He is survived by his wife, Marsha Clark of Kingston; daughter, Jeri Clark of Rockford; son, Robert F. (Trish) Clark of St. Charles; grandchildren, Lawrence Bergschneider, Brittany Bergschneider and Josie Clark; brother, Gene Clark of Kingston; stepbrother, Robert (Angie) Dieterlen of Garden Prairie; aunts and uncles, Adolph (Betty) Paulsen of Kirkland, John (Betty) Paulsen of Tucson, Ariz., and Jim (Roberta) Pauslen of Genoa.
The family would like to thank everyone for their prayers and concern from all over the world.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 24, at Olson Funeral & Cremation Services Ltd., Cooper-Quiram Chapel, 202 E. Main St., Genoa, IL 60135, with the Rev. John Weiss officiating. A visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral chapel.
Memorials can be made to the family for a memorial to be established in Robert's name.
