GENOA – Sharon Ann Berott, 63, of Genoa, Ill., died Friday, Jan. 3, 2014, at her home surrounded by her loving family.|
She was born Nov. 5, 1950, in Chicago, the daughter of Carl and Dolores (Mathis) Muir.
Sharon worked at Children's Press in Chicago and was a legal secretary for attorneys at Kline, Stoddard and Buck for 17 years. She loved to read, write stories and travel. She enjoyed being a Girl Scout troop leader and coordinator.
Survivors include her mother, Dolores Muir; three sons, Lee Roy Berott, Thomas Berott and Lonny Muir (fiance Stacy Wroblaski); five grandchildren, Anthony, Alexandria, Peyton, Mark and Ashley; five brothers, Carl (Pam) Muir, William, John, Steven and Ronald Muir; four sisters, Darlene (Gary) Hipkins, Kimberly (Ed) Dombrowski, Michelle (Vince) Peters and Tammy (Jason) Peters; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father and daughter, Jacqulyn.
Her visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Friday, Jan. 10, at Slater-Butala Funeral Home in Genoa. A service will begin at 4 p.m. with the Rev. James P. Freund officiating.
