HINCKLEY – Harley Donald Klotz, 89, of Hinckley, Ill., passed away Sunday, Oct. 20, 2013, at Hillside Rehabilitation and Care Center in Yorkville.|
Born Jan. 20, 1924, in Hinckley, the son of Morris and Stella (Reimensnider) Klotz, he married Mary Pauline Harrett on Aug. 5, 1945, in Hinckley. Harley was a member of English Congregational Church of Christ in Big Rock, a member of DeKalb County Farm Bureau and farmed his entire life.
He is survived by one daughter, Sharon Giddens of Sandwich; one son, Bruce (Debbie) Klotz of Hinckley; two grandsons, Jason (Monica) Klotz of Chillicothe and Brian (Teena Watne) Klotz of Leland; great-granddaughter, Abigail Jahnessa Klotz.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; son-in-law, Roy Giddens; and brother, Sheldon Klotz.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 24, at English Congregational United Church of Christ in Big Rock with the Rev. Bill Riegel officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Hinckley. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 23, at Burkhart-Eighner Funeral Home in Sandwich.
