Bob S. Burton(1937 - 2015)

Bob S. Burton, age 77, of Georgetown, Del., passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 23, 2015 at his home with his loving wife of 53 years by his side. He was born on December 8, 1937 in Rehoboth Beach, where he grew up and attended school. Bob was son of the late Samuel J. and Amelia (Dutton) Burton.

Bob was the owner of his own contracting company and later owned and operated Bob's Bait and Tackle in Lewes. He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed NASCAR and collecting antique cars and tractors. He was a member of the Improved Order of Red Men Council #37, the First State Antique Tractor Club, the Capital Area Cobra Club and was a founding member of the Rehoboth Beach Road-Runners Hotrod Club. He was also a past member of Rehoboth Beach Fire Company in the 1960s.

Bob enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, family and many friends including those at Wilson's General Store and the Cape Henlopen Fishing Pier.

In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his two sisters: Helen Nailor and Violet Simpson. He is survived by his wife, Margaret (Marge) Burton; a son, Robert Burton and his wife Jennifer of Rehoboth Beach; a daughter, Beverly Kent and her husband Grant of Lititz, Pa.; four grandchildren: Grant Kent and Karoline Kent of Lititz, and Samuel Burton and Genna Burton of Rehoboth Beach; two brothers: John Burtonnd his wife Joanne of Angola and Fred Burton of Harbeson; three sisters: Charlotte McDaniel of Rehoboth Beach, Betty Nailor and her husband Preston of Milford, and Ellen Lynch and her husband Richard of Lewes; and many nieces and nephews.

Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, May 9, at 11 a.m. at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, where friends may visit at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Bob's memory to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford DE 19963.
