John G. Carrabba, 97, of Mendon passed away, Thursday February 13, 2014 in the Beaumont Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Northbridge. He was the husband of the late Helen E. (Quirk) Carrabba who passed away in 2005. He was born in Worcester son of the late Luigi and Antoinette (Zicolella) Carrabba and lived in Milford before moving to Mendon many years ago. He was educated in the Milford Schools. He was a World War II Army Veteran. Mr. Carrabba retired in 1979 from the former Draper Corporation in Hopedale where he was employed as a loom fixer for many years. In his early years Mr. Carrabba was an auxiliary Police Officer in Mendon. He is survived by his daughters Lucille Taylor of Mendon, Anne Haganey and her husband Donald of Uxbridge, one sister Filomena Carrabba of Milford, four grandchildren Michelle Allen of OR, Alan Perry of Blackstone, Kimberly Englund of Douglas, Michael Carrabba of FL and many great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son John P. Carrabba, brother James Carrabba, Joseph Carrabba, Michael Carrabba, sisters Anna Lamson and Concetta Smith. His family would like to thank the staff at the Beaumont Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and their hospice group. A funeral home service will be held Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at 10 A.M. at the Consigli-Ruggerio Funeral Home 46 Water St. Burial with full military honors will be held in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne MA.
