Charles Silva

Charles Charlie Silva, 77, of North Falmouth, MA died suddenly on Friday, February 15, 2013 while vacationing in St. Petersburg, FL. Charlie was born in 1935 to Joseph and Margaret Silva. He was raised in Hudson, MA where he was a member of the 1953 championship high school football team. He married his life-long love and best friend Eleanor Kelleher in 1957. After graduating from Boston University, Charlie enjoyed a long career in information technology. He was long time resident of Medway, MA where he was active in town politics and served as chairman of the School Committee. He moved to Falmouth in 1992 where he led an active retirement. A life-long and passionate Democrat, he was a key leader on the Falmouth Democratic Committee. Charlie served on the Falmouth Beach Committee and was a volunteer at the Falmouth Hospital. He was a member of the Secular Branch of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary. Charlie was forever planning his next trip. He was a wonderful cook and baker as well as fisherman and outdoor enthusiast. Charlie never met a stranger, and loved learning from every person he met. In addition to his wife Eleanor, he is survived by five children, Mary Silva Doctor and her husband Curtis Watkins of Nashville, TN; Charles Silva Jr. and his wife Meg Moran of Portsmouth, NH; Matthew Silva and his wife Ivonne of St. Louis, MO; Mark Silva and his wife Kristin Seekircher of Boston, MA; and Jane Silva Depp and her husband Larry of Kansas City, MO. He was the beloved Papa to 14 beautiful granddaughters Caroline, Molly, and Anna Doctor; Madeline, Nora, and Sara Kate Silva; Alessandra, Veronica, and Dominique Silva; Makayla Seekircher and Greta Silva; and, Julia, Emma, and Sarah Depp. Visitation will be Thursday, February 21, from 4 | 7 pm at the Chapman Cole & Gleason Funeral Home 584 West Falmouth Hwy. (Rt.28A)West Falmouth. The funeral will be at 10 AM on Friday, February 22, at St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church in North Falmouth. Burial will follow in North Falmouth Cemetery.
