Joseph Girouard Jr.

Joseph. A. Girouard, Jr., 70, passed away after an illness on February 8, 2013. Joe is survived by his loving wife Nancy (Stonequist) Girouard of 44 years, his brother Gerald Girouard and his wife Gail of Uxbridge, a nephew Jerry Girouard, Jr., his brother-in-law Gerald Menard and his wife Barbara of Leicester, two nieces by marriage, Wendy Begonis and her husband Bob of Leicester and Sheryl Menard and her partner Tom Boulay of Worcester, a very close cousin and dear friend John Yarsh Lemoine and his wife JoAnn of Florida, Greg Lemoine and his wife Pam of Florida, a cousin Robert Lemoine and his wife Nancy of Grafton and his last surviving aunt Sophie Lemoine of Grafton. He will be missed by the people who had the pleasure to know him and all of his pals at the Rose Garden Lounge of Upton. He is sadly missed by Susie our sweet kitty. Susie loved to sit in the middle of his newspaper when he was reading it. Joe served in the Vietnam War from 1965-1967 in the U.S. Navy. He was on the U.S.S. Intrepid Aircraft Carrier for his tour of duty. Joe always enjoyed having a good time, jokes and enjoying people. Joe was especially interested in riding his Harley and sailing. He was a self-taught artist and guitar enthusiast. He was what you would call a self-made man. He worked at Bay State Abrasives for 25 years. Then when Bay State closed he was able to retire. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in his name to an animal shelter of your choice. Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours for Joe on Friday February 15th from 1-2:30pm at Roney Funeral Home 152 Worcester St. N.Grafton MA 01536 followed by a Prayer Service at 2:30 in the funeral home.
