Michael J. Rizzo, Jr., 86, of Marlborough and formerly of Milford, died Thursday, June 20, 2013 at the Rose Monahan Hospice Home at Coes Pond in Worcester after a long illness. He was the husband of Anita (Willens) Rizzo for the last 38 years. He was born in Boston, raised and educated in Roslindale, the son of the late Michael J. and Mary (Cunningham) Rizzo. Veteran of World War II
. Following an honorable discharge he worked for General Motors
in Framingham for 30 years, retiring as a foreman. He was an avid Boston sports fan, working at Fenway Park as a teenager. He collected silver bars and bullion and enjoyed going to yard sales with his wife, Anita. He was a true family man, worked hard to provide for his family and following his retirement, cherished the time he spent with them. In addition to his wife he leaves two sons, Michael T. Rizzo and his wife, Karenann, of Manchester, Conn., and Paul E. Rizzo of Irvine, Calif.; four daughters, Rolande Parent of Hopkinton, Janet Orlando of Hopedale, Valorie Parent and her husband, Michael Lukaszevicz , of Lancaster and Gigi Halsing of Plainville; 10 grandchildren, Heidi, Jason, Jillian, Dennis, Amberly, Corinne, Joseph, Lily, Leo and Dawnielle; and six great-grandchildren He was the rother of the late James Rizzo of Florida, William Rizzo of Braintree, Frank Rizzo of Natick and Elizabeth Rizzo of Roslindale. A funeral service will be held Saturday, June 22 at 10:00 a.m. at the Fitzgerald & Collins Funeral Home (www.CollinsFuneral.com
