Vito Amorelli

Vito Joseph Amorelli, 84, of Ashland passed away Friday Feb. 8th at his home surrounded by family. Born in Cambridge, he was the son of the late John Constantino and Levina (Stifano) Amorelli. He was the husband of the late Carmela (Guerra) Amorelli and longtime companion of Alice Foote of Holliston. Mr. Amorelli worked for Fenwall Co. in Ashland and was a longtime US Postal Service letter carrier in Ashland. He was an avid golfer, excellent cook, loved getting together for Sunday dinners with his family and was always devoted to his family. Vito served his country honorably with the Army during WWII serving in the 66th Constabulary Squadron in Germany from 1946-1947. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion James OCarey Post 77 in Ashland, VFW Post 2331 in Ashland, and the Disabled American Veterans. Mr. Amorelli is survived by two daughters; Patricia Rose and her husband Peter of Milford; and Debra Amorelli and her husband Nathan Miller of Upton; four grandchildren; Ashley, Sandra, and Michael Rose, and Christopher Miller; one great-grandchild; Brandon Rose; and one sister Angie Riga of Northboro. He was predeceased by his brother Frank Amorelli and sister Toni McGee. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, Feb. 12th at 11:00am in St. Matthews Church, 105 Southville St. in Southborough followed by cremation. Calling hours will be held Monday from 4:00-7:00 PM in the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main St. in Ashland. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Fisher House Boston, P. O.
