Joseph P. Wilfert Sr.

Joseph P. Wilfert Sr., 72, of Plainville, died Friday, Dec. 17, 2010, at his home, surrounded by his family. He was the beloved husband of Eleanor Babe (Kell) Wilfert, whom he married in 1958. Born in Boston, Dec. 29, 1937, he was a son of the late George and Ruth (Houghton) Wilfert. Mr. Wilfert was a resident of Plainville since 1978 and formerly resided in Wrentham and Franklin. Before his retirement, he was a baker at Hanleys Bakery in West Roxbury for 20 years and had previously worked at Eagermans Bakery in Natick. Mr. Wilfert loved vacationing in New Hampshire, Cape Cod Canal and Cocoa Beach, Fla. Besides his wife, he is survived by six children, Pamela Plante and her husband, Charlie, of Bethlehem, N.H., Joseph Wilfert Jr. and his fiance, Angela, of Blackstone, Tammy Robillard and her husband, Daniel, of Plainville, Robert Wilfert and his partner, David Fox, of Hamden, Conn., Keith Wilfert and his wife, Kathy, of No. Attleboro, and Jamie Parker and her husband, Matthew, of No. Attleboro; and three brothers, George Wilfert of So. Weymouth, Raymond Wilfert of Hyde Park and Peter Wilfert of Georgia. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, Stevie, Jake, Vicki, Jenn, Andrew, Christian, Keith, Kyle, Kaitlyn, Brodie and Justin; and two great-grandchildren, Taylor and Matthew. He was a brother of the late Richard Wilfert. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service on Tuesday, Dec. 21, at 10 a.m., at the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin, 131 Main St., in Franklin (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com). Burial will follow in Wrentham Center Cemetery. Calling hours are Monday, Dec. 20, from 4 to 8 p.m.
