Ethel Howes Obituary

Ethel Nay (Demery) Carr Howes, of Bellingham, formally of Franklin and Medway, died Sunday May 19, 2013 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was 91 and the wife of the late Allison T. Carr and Robert W. Howes. Born in Medway, she was the cherished daughter of the late Charles W. Demery and Eula E. Hines and was educated in the Medway public school system. Ethel was employed as a machine operator for Roaring Brook Mills in Bellingham and also worked at the Medfield State Hospital and Tofias Hat Shop in Medfield. Ethel was an avid gardener, enjoyed watching the Bruins and cooking meals for many of her friends. She was loved by many and enriched the lives of everyone she came in contact with: although her greatest love was for the Lord. She is survived by her son, William T. Carr and his wife Janice of Coventry, RI, and a dear brother Charles E. Demery of Franklin. She is also survived by 5 Grandchildren, Anthony, Brendon, Alexandra, Melissa and Alicia Carr. She was predeceased by her son Garry L. Carr and brother Rodney W. Demery. Services will be held at the Medway Village Church, 170 Village St. Medway, Ma 02053, on Fri., May 24th at 11 am. Burial will follow at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Auburn Rd, Millis, MA 02054. Visiting hours will be held on May 23rd from 4pm to 7pm at the Medway Villlage Church. Expressions of sympathy may be made in her name to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute 10 Brookline Place West, 6th Floor, Brookline, MA 01445-7226.
