David A. Spear, Sr., 83, of Bellingham, MA passed away peacefully on Friday, June 8, 2018 at Milford Regional Medical Center with his loving family by his side. Married to the love of his life for 52 years Eileen (Cronin) Spear. Born in Bellingham, MA on April 29, 1935 son of the late William A. and Carrie May (Scammon) Spear. He is the loving father of David A. Spear, Jr. and his late wife, Kristen (Eads) Spear of Bellingham, MA, and Carrie May Spear of Hopedale, MA. He leaves his cherished grandsons, Zachery, Jack and Brad Spear. He is the brother of Charles H. Spear and his wife, Muriel of Bellingham, MA, Eleanor Guy and her late husband, Calvin of Maryland, Marjorie Owens and her late husband, Everett of Oxford, ME, his late brother William A. Spear, Jr. and his wife Rosemary Spear of Bellingham, MA, and late brother Edmund A. Spear. He leaves many nieces and nephews. David was a lifelong resident of Bellingham and graduate of Bellingham High School Class of 1953. He operated Caryville Garage for 35 years in Bellingham and worked at Henrys Auto Parts in Blackstone until retiring as a truck driver in 2014. He was a United States Air Force Veteran, Airman First Class, and served in the Air Force Reserve. David was a member of the Knights of Columbus Sacred Heart Council, Franklin, MA 3rd Deg ree and Past Faithful Navigator of the Edward Douglas White 4th Degree Assembly. He was past Grand Knight of Pope John 23rd Council in Bellingham. He was an avid gardener, enjoyed woodworking, camping, was a devoted Red Sox fan, but most of all spending time with family and will be greatly missed. David had a special request to everyone, Please do not dress in Black. Funeral will be held on Friday, June 15th at 8:00AM from Cartiers Funeral Home, 151 So. Main St. (Rte 126), Bellingham, MA with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00AM at St. Blaise Church, 1158 So. Main St, Bellingham. Visiting hours are on Thursday, June 14th from 5PM to 8PM at the funeral home. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Donations in memory of David A.
