Helen Mary (McCaffrey) Costa, of Millis, died Saturday afternoon, February 9, 2013, at her daughters residence after a lengthy illness. She was 80. Born in Provincetown, to the late William J. and Helen M. (Marshall) McCaffrey, she was raised and educated in Provincetown. Mrs. Costa had attended the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston. A Millis resident for over 30 years, had also resided in Mattapoisett and North Conway, NH. A devoted wife and mother, she was dedicated to her family and raising her daughters. She loved cooking and making the Holidays special and enjoyed knitted and playing the piano. Mrs. Costa is survived by her husband of 61 years, William J. Costa and her daughters, Colleen McLaughlin and her husband, Joseph of Harwich, Kerin Kerry Hager and her husband, Harold of Franklin, Kelly Whitmore of Millis, Kristi Lahaise and her husband, James of Medfield and Kara Curran of Westminster. She is also survived by her 13 cherished grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her daughter, Mary Kristen Costa. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial in celebration of Helens life on Thursday morning at 10 at Saint Thomas the Apostle Church, Millis. Private interment will follow at Saint Peters Cemetery in Provincetown.
