Mr. John T. Corcoran, 91, of Milford MA and formerly of Dedham MA, died Wednesday (April 16, 2014) at the Bedford VA Medical Center in Bedford MA after an illness. He was the husband of the late Margaret L. (Kelleher) Corcoran. Mr. Corcoran was a WW II USMC veteran and was the recipient of a Bronze Star Medal. Mr. Corcoran had been employed as a young man by the Civilian Conservation Corps from 1939 to 1941, prior to his military service during WW II. Following his military service he was employed for over 35years as a firefighter for the Boston Fire Department. Mr. Corcoran was a proud member of the American Legion; the VFW; the Elks; and the Boston Firefighters Union Local #718. Mr. Corcoran is survived by his 3 Children: Linda, wife of Paul O'Brien of Milford MA, John M. Corcoran of Quincy MA and Marine, wife of Paul Newman of Atlanta GA; 3 Grandchildren: Kelly Capece of Uxbridge MA, Jessie Newman of New York City, NY and Cody Newman of Atlanta GA; 1 Great Grandson: Jonathan Capece of Uxbridge MA and several nieces and nephews. Private Graveside Committal Services, with Military Honors, will be held at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne MA at the convenience of the family.
