Robert G. Rickman, 78, passed away peacefully, Sunday July 7, 2013 at UMass Memorial Medical Center, Lake Ave., Worcester surrounded by his family after a brief illness. He was the husband of Anita M. (Gardner) Rickman and the late Jenny P. (Powell) Rickman who died in 2005. Mr. Rickman was employed as an insurance agent with Sun Life of Canada for many years, as well as ABB Construction where he worked as warehouse supervisor. He was also the CFO of Exotic Machine Inc. He was born April 15, 1935 in Washington, D.C., son of the late Clyde Glen and Mildred (Bowman) Rickman. Bob had been a resident of Parkville, MD prior to moving to Milford in 1975. Mr. Rickman graduated from Frederick High School in MD, and attended the University of Maryland. He joined the U.S. Air Force in November 1955 and was on active duty in the Iceland Air Defense until 1961. Mr. Rickman was a member of Montgomery Lodge of Masons A.F. and A.M. in Milford, a volunteer poll worker in Milford, was active in local politics, and a Republican Party supporter. He enjoyed traveling in his retirement in his RV. In addition to his wife, Mr. Rickman is survived by his son James W. Rickman of Clinton; his daughter Christine A. DiAntonio and her husband Paul of Mendon; two brothers Charles E. Rickman of Frederick, MD and John A. Rickman of Oakland, MD; two grandsons Ryan J. DiAntonio and Justin M. DiAntonio of Mendon; many nieces, nephews, stepchildren, and step grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brother Richard L. Rickman. Funeral services will be private and held at the convenience of the family, with funeral arrangements under the direction of Buma-Sargeant Funeral Home, Milford.
