Raymond E. Pottle, 76, of Franklin MA and formerly of Milford MA died Friday morning (January 24, 2014) at the Milford Regional Medical Center after a period of declining health. He was the husband of Janet E. (Harris) Pottle. He was born in Framingham MA, the son of the late Hollis R. and the late Ella M. (Osborne) Pottle and resided in Wayland, Natick, and Milford, before moving to Franklin. Mr. Pottle attended Wayland High School and later served in the US Navy from 1955 to 1958. Upon his honorable discharge he was employed at the former General Motors Corporation in Framingham MA for thirty years. Mr. Pottle was a member of the Maspenock Rod & Gun Club in Milford MA and the United Autoworkers. Besides his wife of ( 53 ) years, which they would have celebrated on January 28th, he leaves (4) children, Mrs. Yvonne Marshall of Norfolk VA, Ronald E. Pottle of Denver CO, Richard H. Pottle of Danielson CT, and Jennifer L. Buck and her husband, Edwin, of Acton MA; (7) grandchildren, Amanda and Samuel Pottle, Michelle and Mike Schmidts, Charlie Marshall, and Ian and Logan Buck; (2) great grandchildren, Marlena and Cody Schmidts. He was the brother of the late Melvine Sawtelle, the late Lawrence Stevens, the late Lena Thompson, and the late Bess Culberson. His funeral, with military honors, will be held on Tuesday (January 28th) at 11AM in the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Dilla Street, Milford MA. Visiting hours will be held on Monday (January 27th) from 5PM-7PM.
