Obituary Condolences

Mr. Joseph F. Brita, 93, of Milford MA, died Wednesday (January 29, 2014) at Countryside Healthcare of Milford after a period of declining health. He was the beloved husband of the late Anna M. (Bonina) Brita, who died in 2009. Mr. Brita was born in Milford MA, the son of the late Michele and the late Salvina (Ciardulli) Brita. He attended Milford public schools as a boy and also was a graduate of the former Framingham Business School. Mr. Brita was a WW II US Army veteran having served in the Pacific Theatre. He was later employed for over twenty-five years at the former Milford Shoe Company, followed by employment at Central Cleaners & Tailors here in Milford, until his retirement in 1985. Mr. Brita was a longtime communicant of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church and had volunteered as scoutmaster for Boy Scout Troop #2 of Milford for over thirty-five years. He was also an active member of the Sons of Italy | Milford Lodge for which he had served as financial secretary for many years. He also had served as a past Director at the former Greenleaf Finance Corporation in Milford. Mr. Brita is survived by his 2 Children: Michael J. Brita and his wife Sally of Holliston MA and Sally A., wife of Dennis Eldridge of Mendon MA; 7 Grandchildren: Kristina, wife of Paul Mulcahy of Franklin MA, Cynthia, wife of David Felix of Milford MA, Risa Eldridge of Wilmington MA, Beth E ldridge of Medford MA, John Tessicini and his wife Amy-Jo of Milford MA, David Tessicini and his wife Jennifer of Charlotte NC, Kevin Eldridge of Mendon MA; 3 Great Grandsons: David Felix, Colin Mulcahy and Brady Tessicini; 3 Great Granddaughters: Kiarra Felix, Madison Mulcahy nd Gavin Tessicini; 1 Sister: Mrs. Jennie Peneau of Bellingham MA; 1 Sister-in-law: Mrs. Josephine Brita of Milford MA; 1 Brother-in-law: Arnold Nealley of Hopedale MA; also several nieces and nehews. Mr. Brita was the father of the late Joseph A. Brita, who died in 2009 and the brother of the late Arthur Brita, the late Victoria Cataldo, the late Clementina Gordon and the late Marguerite Nealley. His funeral, with Military Honors, will be held Saturday (February 1st) at 8am from the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9am in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church (Upper Church), 7 East Main Street, Milford MA.
