Everett A. Benny Young, 86, of Hopedale passed away Sunday, March 2, 2014 at home surrounded by loved ones. He was the husband of Doris (Lee) Young. Mr. Young had been a drafting teacher at the Blackstone Valley Regional Vocational Technical High School, retiring in 1990. He also owned and operated Cape Road Trailer Sales in Hopedale for many years. Prior to teaching, he was an industrial engineer in the missile and space division at Raytheon Corp. in Waltham. Everett was born Nov. 17, 1927 in Fall River the son of the late James H. and Rhoda (Davidson) Young and was a graduate of Hopedale High School, class of 1946, serving as class treasurer. Mr. Young was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in World War II. He was a member of the school committee and building committee of BVT and took pleasure in organizing many memorable Hopedale High School class reunions. He was an avid Boston sports fan, extremely proud of the many accomplishments of his grandchildren, and never missed lunch with his wife Doris. He enjoyed his trailer on Cape Cod and was always interested in the daily lives of his family and friends. He also created and assembled many unique and thoughtful gifts that he shared with everyone he met. In addition to his beloved wife, Doris, of 61 years, he is survived by his daughters, Nancy L. and her husband Vincent Arone of Hopedale and Sandra L. and her husband Robert Neilan of Mendon; and four grandchildren, Jonathan Arone, Elizabeth Arone, Erin Neilan and Lauren Neilan; many nieces, nephews, dear cousins; and his many loving caregivers. He was predeceased by his brothers, James Young Jr., Ernest Young, and Robert Young; and a grandson, Stephen O. Neilan Visiting hours will be held Wed. March 5, 2014 from 5-7 PM in the BUMA-SARGEANT FUNERAL HOME, 42 Congress Street, Milford. Funeral services, with full military honors, will be held Thurs. March 6, 2014 at 12 Noon in the funeral home. Interment will follow at Hopedale Village Cemetery.
