Mr. Gayle S. Sullivan, age 78 of Lenoir City formerly of Franklin, MA passed away Sunday morning, April 20, 2014 at his home. He served in the U. S. Air Force during the Vietnam Era with the Presidential Honor Guard under President Dwight Eisenhower. Gayle was a lifetime member of the U. S. Air Force Honor Guard Association. He was retired from the Department of Public Health in Boston, MA. Preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Frederick D. Sullivan and Lillian Cromack Sullivan; brothers, Dr. Frederick Sullivan and Alan Sullivan, and sisters, Lucille Slack , Jean Harrison, and Elaine Hepburn. Survived by his wife of 53 years, Virginia Wofsy Sullivan; daughters and sons-in-law, Pamela Sullivan and Donald Weaver,, Amy and Peter DiBattista; son and daughter-in-law, Darren and Denise Sullivan; grandchildren, Domenic and Olivia DiBattista; sister, Anna Marie Amidon; brothers, Donald and Dennis Sullivan; brother-in-law, Chester Wofsy and wife, Helen; many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, April 26 at Click Funeral Home in Lenoir City. Memorial services will follow at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. Eddie Click officiating. Military honors will be conferred by the Loudon Co. Veterans Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to University of Tennessee Hospice Services.
