Obituary Condolences

Mr. Wayne D. Rett, 75, of Milford, MA, died Friday, June 6, 2014, at Countryside Healthcare of Milford surrounded by his loving family after a period of declining health. He was the beloved husband of Joyce M. (Belmonte) Rett. Mr. Rett was born in Milford MA, the son of the late Louis J. Rett Jr. and the late Lena (Catella) Rett. He was a graduate of Milford High School, Class of 1957. He then received his associates degree from Wentworth Institute, Class of 1959. He later received his bachelors of science degree from Northeastern University and his MBA from Leslie College. Mr. Rett was first employed as a young man at the former Draper Corporation in Hopedale, MA. He later worked for many years as a mechanical engineer at the Digital Equipment Corporation, retiring in 1994. Mr. Rett had been a member of the Massachusetts Army National Guard for six years and was a longtime member of the John W. Powers Post #59 American Legion. He was also a longtime member of the Plains Association and a member of the Seniors of St. Theresas Parish in Blackstone, MA. Mr. Rett loved to travel but especially loved spending time with his grandchildren. Along with his beloved wife of 50 years, he is survived by his 4 children: Julie, wife of Michael Leonard of Northborough, MA; Christopher Rett and his wife MaryJo (Mason) Rett of Uxbridge, MA; Jill, wife of John Schreiber of Uxbridge, MA and Joy, wife of William Brew of Wickford, R.I.; 8 grandchildren: Caroline and Casey Leonard; Grace and Brianne Rett; Jack and Tommy Schreiber and Will and Zachary Brew. He was the brother of the late Gardner Rett. His funeral will be held Wednesday (June 11th) at 9am from the Chapel Room @ Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 7 East Main Street, Milford MA followed by his Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in the Lower Chapel of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Milford, MA. Relatives and friends are invited to extend condolences to the Rett family on Tuesday, June 10th, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at a Family Gathering in the Chapel Room of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Milford, MA.
