Obituary Condolences

L. "Eddie" Plante of Milford, MA. died Sunday morning (April 15, 2012) surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Norma E. (Tomasini) Plante. He was born in Northbridge, MA., the son of the late Rosaire and the late Bertha (Jacques) Plante. He attended Uxbridge public schools and graduated form Uxbridge High School. He later attended Worcester trade School. Mr. Plante was employed by the US Army Material Command at the former Watertown Arsenal in Watertown, MA. He was awarded the "The Sustained Superior Special Acts Award" and earned the Federal Employee of the Year Citation. He was officially commended for his suggestions (6) adopted by the Arsenal and the US Army. He was a Korean War US Army veteran and was awarded the United Nations Service Medal, the Korean Service Medal, the Korean War Metal under the Aviation Battalion at Elgin Air Force Base in Florida. Mr. Plante was a member of the Lawrence J. Heron Chapter #6 DAV Post. His passions in life were his children, grandchildren and he enjoyed fishing, gardening, and was an avid Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots fan. Besides his wife of (57) years, he leaves (2) daughters, Sharon, wife of Atty. Jeffrey Goldstein of Bellingham, MA. and Gina, wife of Jeffrey Gottlieb M.D. of South Glastonbury, CT.; (6) grandchildren, Julia, Nathaniel, and Kayla Goldstein, and Zachary, Lauren, and Emily Gottlieb; (1) brother, Ronald Plante; several nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Richard Plante. His funeral will be held on Saturday morning (April 21 at 9AM. from the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress St. Milford (www.edwardsmemorialfuneralhome.com) followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM. in St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 19 Winter Street, Milford, MA. Burial with military honors will follow in Sacred Heart of Jesus Cemetery, Medway Road (Rte. 109) Milford, MA. Visiting hours will be held on Friday (April 20) from 6PM-8PM.
