OSTERHOUT, DAN R. Dan R. Osterhout, age 63 of Weston, beloved husband of Cathy Osterhout, passed away Friday, August 23, 2013. Born in Sharon, PA the son of the late Donald and Phyllis Osterhout, he had been a Weston resident for the last 16 years. Dan received a BA from the University of Baltimore and a Master Degree in Finance from Loyola University. He was the Managing Director of Community Senior Capital, a wealth-management firm. Prior to this position, Dan served in a number of Senior Executive positions at Aon Corporation. He served as President and Chief Executive Officer of the U.S. operations of Swiss Re New Markets. Mr. Osterhout also held a variety of senior positions with Alexander & Alexander. His career spanned thirty years in the insurance industry. He was an avid New York Yankee fan. Survivors in addition to his loving wife Cathy include three beloved sons, Jason Osterhout of Burlington, VT, Brandon Osterhout of San Francisco, CA and Jordan Osterhout of Weston, CT; three cherished grandchildren, Vivian, Quincy and Curtis; a brother and sister in-law, Thom and Carol Osterhout of Fort Myers, FL; brother and sister in-laws, Bob and Linda Dear of Ellicott City, MD, Denny and Peggy Dear of Columbia, MD, and many treasured nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, David and Scott Osterhout. Friends may greet the family Thursday, August 29, 2013 from 2-5 p.m. in the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield. A prayer service and celebration of Dan's life will begin at 4p.m. Interment will be private.
