My family owned and operated a garden center on Old Shell Rd near Catherine. When Ms. Eleanor became ill, Judge Inge would stop by weekly to get her a flower to cheer her. We should all have the gift of such love!

Doctors Katherine and David Inge
I am an attorney in Gastonia, North Carolina. I thought the attached
article written by Katherine about her father in law and the war was
great. I also read the obituary for your father and send my condolences to
you and your family. What a great man. Sometimes I think the term "The
Greatest Generation" is an understatement. My father was also a WW II
Veteran who fought in North Africa (Patton) and Italy. He died on
February 6, 2013. My mother who is now 89 found a book last week titled
"The War". In the book was a copy of Katherines article, and a
handwritten note from Danny, a copy of which is attached to this e mail.
Also your Dad's picture along with Tom Galloway was autographed. After
reading the note my mother wants to return the book but we do not know who
Danny is. Any help you can give will be greatly appreciated. TJ

I am physically out here in Texas and couldn't get to Uncle Wank's funeral, but please know that I am right there with you in spirit and prayer. What an AMAZING man and what a beloved uncle he always was to me! He will never, ever be forgotten! Mama was so proud of him and talked so much about his integrity and character.

So sorry to hear of the passing of Judge Inge. When young, I was unaware of his war experiences but am glad to have been able to talk with a couple of years ago. Fond Memories!

My sincere condolences for your loss. Some of Judge Inge's character, compassion and integrity might be exemplified in the saying, "The mark of a man is how he treats those who can be of no value to him!" A high compliment to be sure.

I am very sorry for the loss. My dad was friends with Judge Inge and spoke very highly of him.
I have known George, David and Herndon for many years. They are an example of good and respectable leadership because of their father.

When my father, William A. Snodgrass, Jr., M.D. died, Medicine lost a standard, by which to compare compassion. This is true to the legal profession with the loss of Judge Herdon. My respect for your family continues. Phillip A. Snodgrass, M. D.

Judge Inge practiced law with two fine gentlemen lawyers after he left the bench. When his law parnters passed he ask if he could join our firm Taylor Martno. He was well in his eighties. Of course we welcomed this pillar of the legal community. He often told me how grateful he was to be with our firm. He had it so backwards. It was our firm who were honored , blessed and grateful to have such a great man in our midst. Despite being itwice the age of the lawyers in our firm he was the first to arrive and the last to leave the office. He had more clients in the lobby day in and day out. Judge Inge exemplified and thus taught us patience , honor , humility , kindness and dedication to not just our work , but in our everyday affairs. He reminded us of the sacrifices made by the heroes of WW II and how blessed we are to be free Americans. A true gentleman and American hero has just passed.

Judge Inge was a "true gentleman" in every sense. One day after discussing our military careers (mine was short and unheralded). He brought me an essay that he had written which was published in Army Times, I believe. He was just that kind of person - he took the extra step in all of his relationships. His legacy lives on with his children and grandchildren.
