It is with great sadness that family announces the loss of a fine gentleman, their beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, James Stewart West, at the age of 81.
Born in Modesto, to Donald and Ruby West. Jim was a third generation West, of the family owned and operated J.S. West Company, founded by his grandfather more than 100 years ago.

He quickly ascended through roles in the company to become shareholder, secretary and vice-president of the board. He was the face of J.S. Dear West Family
It was with great sadness I learned of Jim's death.
He was my friend for 37 plus years. It was a delight to see him daily at work, his smile, his funny jokes, enjoying lunches, our discussions on the business, faith, family, and friends. He would say his funny file (full of jokes) was off limits as his eyes danced with laughter.
He loved his family. . . Dear wife Jessie the love of his life, Jason and his sweet Tori ... Janet, his special girl. He was so proud of their accomplishments in life. Please know he touched so many lives for the good--community - clubs - family business, the list goes on.
Dear Vikki and Gary my condolences and deepest sympathy. I know of your love for each other.
Another great man was born, lived a successful life and gone to his reward. He had a kind and caring heart. I shall miss him dearly. My prayers are with you all. May God give you peace and comfort.

Jessie, great memories of that first night in your home after your wedding. Jim was such a "love". I will keep you and your family in my prayers and send good thoughts your way. Grief comes in stages. Don't push yourself too hard. One day at a time, my dear.

{ went to work for the J.S. West Milling Co. In 1959. Jim was my teacher, teaching me how to operate the feed. He didn't start off with nice clean job.He was the best P.R. man that the company could have ever had.
I feel bad that I didn't follow my recent instinct to go visit him. Don Bradley

He was the most wonderful father and mentor. I will always remember what he said to me growing up, "Just remember who you represent", that has stayed with me to this day. You never know who is watching.
