Serafim Brasil Aguiar, Jr
October 6, 1954 - January 14, 2012
Beloved Father, Brother, and Friend.
Serafim Aguiar, 57, of Livingston, passed away peacefully in his daughters' home in Atwater, CA.
Born in Sao Jorge, Azores, Portugal, he immigrated with his family 45 years ago. Serafim grew up here in the valley, and spent his life working in the dairy industry. For over 30 years, he has worked as a milk tester. He took a lot of pride in the service he provided his customers, and was very happy that his daughters Lucia and Cecilia were going to carry on the family business.
Serafim will always be remembered as an extremely dedicated, hard-working and generous man. He was beloved by many, and always had a smile. Serafim was president of the Modesto Portuguese Pentecost Association for 2010-2011, and it was blessing that he was able to fulfill this dream before he passed away. He was very active in his community and church, and had an unwavering faith in God. There was never any doubt in his mind that God was with him, and that life would work out exactly as it was meant to. He accepted his disease, and although he hoped for a miracle, he was thankful for the time he had on this earth, and that he was able to say his goodbyes and share his hard earned wisdom. Serafim loved life, and above all, he loved his family.
Serafim is survived by his children: Lucia, Cecilia, Gabrielle, Serafim, Maria Helena, Orlando, Eevo, and Nohely; his grandchildren Ariana, Lilian, Cristian and Emelia; and his brothers and sisters Maria, John, Joe, Connie, Serafina, Helen, Brigida, Tony, Teresa and Gina.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Whitehurst, Norton, Dias in Turlock, and any donations can be made through the funeral home.
Services will be held at Our Lady of Assumption Church: 2602 S Walnut Rd, Turlock.

Not easy to find the right words to talk about him... I just have met him 15 years ago, and just have seen him 2 times since.. last time was this summer... he always was smiling and generous, happy of life even the sickness... he had a great life loved by his childs. I'm not a believer but I'm sure now he is somewhere in a beautiful place in peace and as always...smiling!!

To my big brother at peace with the Lord. I am consoled by the fact that you are no longer suffering and that you are hanging out with mom and dad in heaven.
I will miss your sparkling eyes, your quirky sense of humor and hearing you call me "baby sister". I wish we had more time here on earth together, but as we both know, God has a plan and a purpose. We must trust that things are how they should be.
Rest in peace dear brother.
