Richard M. "Dick" Miller
Jan. 22, 1923 - June 9, 2013
Dick passed away peacefully at home at the age of 90.
Dick was born in Corry, PA. and raised in Warren, PA. He served in the Navy during World War II and again during the Korean Conflict.
After World War II Dick settled on the West Coast, finally ending up in Modesto in 1952. He lived in the same house since Jan. 1954.
Dick worked for Griswold & Wight Ford for over 20 years. He had his own auto parts route from 1972 to 1978. He worked for Heritage Ford from 1978 until he retired in 1985. At the age of 69 he was hired by A.L. Gilbert to work in their truck parts department. Dick worked for them for 8 years until finally retiring at the age of 77.
Dick is survived by his sister Florence Pring of Warren, PA., son Richard M. Miller Jr. of Modesto, daughter Carol Hatfield, 2 granddaughters, 1 great granddaughter, 2 great grandsons, 1 great great granddaughter and 1 great great grandson, all of Washington state, several nieces and nephews and numerous cousins throughout the country.
Dick was predeceased by his wife of 48 years Lillian M. Miller, his sister Ellna B. O'Conner and his son Robert A. Miller.
Funeral and visitation at Salas Brothers Funeral Chapel. Visitation Monday, June 17; 4 to 8 pm. Funeral Tues., June 18 at 1 pm.
