Dick, Abraham - Oakdale  
Abraham Dick June 13, 1925 January 19, 2015 Abraham Dick was born in Mountain Lake, Minnesota, to John and Susie Dick.  He was the tenth of thirteen children.  He grew up working the farm until he enlisted in the Navy during World War II.  He served on the USS Berrien, and bravely ran the troop transport craft onto the beaches of Iwo Jima.  When he was discharged he met and married Carolyn Anderson.  They remained married for 64 years until her death last year.  "Old Abe" worked as a postman for thirty years before retiring.  His hobbies included windmills, old engines, Model T's, and making sure everyone at the Stanislaus County Fair knew how a corn huller worked.  He is survived by his sons Roger (Diane), Tom (Maureen), David (Nancy), Steven (Ellyn); twelve grandchildren, and 10 ½  great grand-children.  Service to be held at Oakdale Memorial Chapel, 830 W. Dixon, Launa  
Launa "Lee" Dixon Mar. 2, 1934 ~ Jan. 23, 2015 Launa was born in Hazard County, Kentucky to James and Cassie Begley and passed away at the age of 80 in Turlock, California.  She was one of eight children who grew up in a modest home in Kentucky.  At the age of twelve, her family moved to Oakland, California.  She graduated from Biola University, where she also met her husband Ted Dixon; together they shared 45 years of marriage until he passed away in 2006. Lee taught elementary school for over 30 years, in Stanislaus and Merced counties.  Lee and Ted worked at many churches over the years, where Ted served as a music director.  Lee was a vocalist, taught Sunday and Vacation Bible School, and led various children's programs at church. Lee loved traveling with her family and embarked on several trips across the United States. Lee always studied the maps to find interesting and educational places to visit. Lee is survived by her children Tim Dixon, Debbie Spector and Rick Dixon; three of her seven siblings and grandchildren Sherra, Jason, Mitchell, Mark and Zoe. Hake, Douglas - Denair  
Douglas Ross Hake Jan. 25, 1942 - Jan. 25, 2015 Doug was born and raised in Stanislaus County. He was raised on the family farm north of Denair and attended schools there, graduating from high school with the Class of 1960. He then attended Modesto Junior College with an emphasis in Ag. While attending MJC and working on the family farm he also worked part-time for Joe Lema. Joe's business was picking up cans of fresh milk and delivering them to Hughson and Newman. While working for Joe, he met the future love of his life, Joe's daughter Josephine. They were marred in November of 1966. During this time Doug joined the Army National Guard in 1963, serving a 6-year commitment. Doug continued working on the family farm and started his own custom farming, harvesting and trucking business.  His hobbies included building and driving buggies and running them at the dunes and mountains. Another favorite past-time was long drives in the country. He was a member of the Denair Friends Church and the American Legion. He is survived by his son Benjamin Hake of Denair; siblings Robert (Vicky) Hake of Denair, Linda (Ted) Pinson of Ohio, Sandra (Allen) Niles of Wyoming; and two grandchildren Marcus and Nicolas Hake of Denair. Doug was preceded in death by his wife Josephine in 2004, his parents Leland and Margaret Hake, and sister Carol Alford. Viewing will be held at Allen Mortuary on Thursday, Jan. 29, 2015 from 4 - 7 pm. Funeral will also be held at Allen Mortuary on Friday, Jan. 30,2015 at 10 am with burial to follow at Denair Cemetery. Hawkins, Timothy - Modesto  
Timothy Alvin Hawkins June 19,1951 - January 23, 2015 Timothy Alvin Hawkins was born on June 19, 1951 and passed away on January 23, 2015 at the age of 63. He was the most kind and loving person to all that have known him. He spent his life as a proud soccer coach, creator of beautiful homes, and friend to many. Most of all, he was a loving husband, father, grandfather, & brother. Those in his family will deeply miss his quiet presence. He would give you anything you needed, even if it was his last possession. He would help, even if he was the one who needed it. In his recent years, he was happy and healthy, excited that he was able to do more than in the past. He was spending many of his days golfing, traveling to see he grandchildren's activities, keeping active in his kid's lives, enjoying vacations with them, and even put his snow skis back on to spend a day on the slopes with his grandkids. He and his wife loved and cared for each other very much. Most could only dream of the simple and meaningful life that they had together. He is survived by his wife Aida, his children Travis (Janelle), Tyler, Troy, & Traci, his grandchildren Aiden, Leila, Gavin, & Lily, his brother Jay and many others that are proud to call him family. He will be in our hearts forever. A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 30th at 1PM in the Heritage Chapel at Lakewood Funeral Home at 900 Santa Fe Avenue, Hughson, CA with viewing the day prior (Thursday) at the same location from 4-8PM. All that called him family or friend and shared any part of their life with him are welcome. Hritz, Karen  
Karen Elaine Hritz Sept. 12, 1952 ~ Jan. 2015 Karen was born in San Jose, CA to Raymond and Dixie Feliciano and had lived in Stevinson for 31 years.  She worked as a Head Start teacher for twenty years and enjoyed helping with various volunteer services.  She will be remembered as a kind hearted person who always saw the good in everyone and cared for others before herself.  Karen dearly loved children and enjoyed spending time with them. She is survived by her daughters Tamara and Kelin Hritz; adopted daughter Christine Alcantara; brother Kenneth Feliciano; Godson/nephew Carl Rose; Nieces Megan and Kristin Feliciano; great nieces/great nephews William and Paula Fredson; cousin Kimberly Vally; her best friends Roxanne Grubb, Judi Price and Pamela McGuire and her dogs Copper, Lucky, Puppy and Maggy. Karen is preceded in death by her father Raymond Feliciano; mother Dixie Feliciano; brother Raymond John Feliciano; niece Stephanie Fredson and sister Paula Rose. Johnson, Martha "Joani" - Turlock  
Martha Joan Johnson April 1959 - January 2015 Martha Joan Johnson, age 55, of Turlock passed away due to Diabetes related complications on Thursday, January 22, 2015 at Doctors Medical Center. She was born April 19, 1959, to Janie Betkhouda and Paul Johnson in Arcadia, Florida. She graduated with the class of 1977 from Desoto County High School. She settled in Turlock in 1989 and enjoyed playing pool as well as watching football and baseball. Joan is survived by her son, Shawn Johnson of Turlock, grandson Landon Johnson, sister Betty DeCaro of Tracy, CA, and brother Richard Johnson of Pleasanton, CA.
