Souza, William  
William Enos Souza May 27, 1923- May 28, 2015 Lifelong Turlock resident, William E. Souza, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 28 after celebrating his 92nd birthday. He was born May 27, 1923 to Joseph and Mary Souza, the second of six children. William was drafted into the US Army during the last years of World War II and received the Victory Medal. After returning to Turlock, he worked for the City of Turlock's water treatment plant as an equipment operator for 27 years, and later for Tri Valley Food Processors as a Forklift operator.Family was a primary component of his life and William was fortunate to retire at age 52 and dedicate himself to being a "full-time grandpa." He also enjoyed selling  antiques & gold prospecting  for years. William is preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Mary Souza, his youngest son Stanley, and siblings, Manuel Souza and Annabell Rae and stepson Scott Adcock. He is survived by his wife, Minnie Souza, children, Michael (Sherry) and Gary (Yvonne), grandchildren, Erin, Damien, Gavin, Travis, Lisa & Amy, siblings, Alice Nyquist, Albert Souza, and Joe Sousa, dear caretaker, Ruth Aline Souza, stepsons  Mark (Tammy), Troy (Carrie), Todd (Ronda), step grandchildren Kristina, Heather, Troy Jr., Jason, Anthony, Jennifer, Andra & 12 great-grandchildren and countless cherished cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. A visitation will be held Friday, June 5, from 1:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Turlock Funeral Home, 425 N. Soderquist Rd., in Turlock. A graveside service will follow on Saturday, June 6 at 10:00 a.m. in Turlock Memorial Park. Truman, Fern - Salida  
Fern Truman Feb 19, 1927- May 28, 2015 May 28, 2015, Fern Lucile Truman went home to be with the Lord. She was an Amazing Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, and was loved by all who knew her. She will be greatly missed. Fern was preceded in death by Her Husband George Truman. She is survived by her Son George "Rusty" Truman Jr., and Daughters Beverly Jones and Sharol Prescott. She is also survived by 6 Grandkids and 11 Great Grandkids. Butz, William - Modesto  
William D. Butz January 18, 1925 - May 20, 2015 Our Dad William D. Butz passed away peacefully at the Alexander Cohen Hospice House on May 20, 2015 at the age of 90. Bill was born in Osceola, Nebraska to Dr. Fred T. and Merle Butz. In June 1943 Bill graduated from Lincoln High School in Lincoln, Nebraska. After graduation Bill went directly into the United States Army where he served in the 1145th Engineer Combat Group in Central Europe until March of 1946.      On July 19, 1948 Bill married Jeanette M. Connelly (Connie) in Lincoln, Nebraska. In 1965 they came west and settled in Modesto, CA.  Together they had four children Susan, David, Thomas, and Kimberly.   Bill worked as a pressman for the Modesto Bee and the Stockton Record and retired in 1985. Bargain Bill enjoyed buying and selling items and was a fixture at garage sales and the local flea markets. Bill was a proud veteran and avid Nebraska Cornhusker Fan, a trait he passed on to the many members of his family. Bill and Connie were members of the Stanislaus Mineral Society and enjoyed family camping trips, rockhound trips, along with extended trips in their RV visiting friends and relatives. Bill was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years Jeanette M. Butz, parents Fred T. and Merle Butz, and brother Robert J. Butz. Bill is survived by his daughter Susan Self (Ron), son David Butz (Yolanda), son Thomas Butz, and daughter Kimberly Hoagland (Greg), along with an extended family that included many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Dad we will miss your booming voice, your laugh, and the guidance you have given us throughout the years. Although you are gone your spirit will live on in the many current and future generations of the family. With much love we say good-bye for now.   The family would like to thank the staff at Bethel Retirement Home and the Alexander Cohen Hospice House for the love they showed in the care of our dad.   A Memorial Service will be held at 12:30 PM Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at the San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery located at 32053 West McCabe Road in Santa Nella, CA. Clevenger, Glenn - Manteca  
Glenn Clevenger May 26, 1933 - May 24, 2015 Glenn Clevenger, 81, entered into rest on Sunday, May 24, 2015 just two days shy of his 82nd birthday. He was born on May 26, 1933 in Crook, Colorado to the late Glenn and Ilene Clevenger. He is preceded in death by his wife Arline. He leaves behind his daughters, Grace Zagaris (Jon) of Modesto, Nadine Piland (David) of Fresno and Gwen Johnson (Terry) of Chicago.  He was blessed with  grandchildren; Larry Rosenwinkel (Tesha), Todd Fulke (Kally), Steven Zagaris (Lena), Jeremiah Brent (Nate), Rachel Tilton (Martin) and David Piland. In addition he has three great grandbabies. Glenn is survived by his sister Shirley Pardovich of Oregon. Glenn was an Atwater/Modesto native. He was a veteran serving his country proudly for over 20 years through the United States Air Force. During his service, he excelled as a mechanic. He traveled the world with his family, having been stationed in Spain, Florida, Maine and Nevada.  In his younger years he was a cowboy enthusiast. His hero was John Wayne and he enjoyed cowboy movies. He looked forward to spending time with his family and Christmas was his favorite holiday. He appreciated the simple pleasures in life and loved his daughters dearly. He held a special place in his heart for his grandchildren, and boasted over their many photographs.  Glenn was an exceptional husband, father and grandfather he will be dearly missed.  P.L. Fry is honored to serve the Clevenger family. He will be laid to rest privately with full military honors.
