DEAN ROBERT RHODES
DEC 7, 1949 - DEC 15, 2013
Dean went home to be with the Lord. Dean was very talented. He could fix almost anything. He helped build our cabin and remodeled and built on to finish many homes. He built many nice cabinets also. Fixing cars was his specialty.
He was a volunteer Fireman for many years, until he moved to Idaho 20 years ago. Working right across the street he was almost always the first to respond in those days. There was no fulltime Fireman. Dean and fellow fireman, Joe, worked on the old fire truck, both men being mechanics. They took great pride in keeping the old fire truck running. Dean loved to camp, fish and hunt.
In 1971, Dean married Christine Lee Thiemann and along came Brent (Cary), Frank, and Ryan (Casey); grandchildren Cheyanne and Jesse.
We will really miss Dean, especially on holidays, because he was always right there in the kitchen wanting to help prepare the meal.
There will be a memorial service on Saturday, Dec. 28th at 11:00am at the Grace Church, 734 W. Main St., Ripon, CA.

Dean and I grew up country neighbors in the late 50's. Great memories of country boys running the farmland barefoot all summer. One time we were riding his horse named Pony bareback down the canal bank at a full gallop. Our intent was to go straight for a ways. She decided to turn down the lane that lead to her barn. She made the turn, we didn't. We wound up a pile of laughing boys tangled up with each other and the weeds and the pasture fence, oblivious to the harm that could have befallen us. One of my life's heartiest laughs. Rest in peace old friend. Sincerest condolences to Dean's family & friends.
