Bobbie "Bob" Harvey

Bobbie "Bob" Neal Harvey was born on September 4th, 1926. He resided in Modesto for 73 years. He graduated from Modesto High School in 1944 and then joined the Army
Air Core. He served from 1944 to 1946 and was stationed in Guam. During his time in the Air Core he served as a flight engineer on a B-29 Superfortress.
Upon returning from Guam he studied to become a teacher. He taught at Stanislaus Union, Mark Twain Junior High, Grace M Davis High School, and retired in 1989 from Fred C Beyer High School. He had a great appreciation for the arts and loved photography and painting. He spent his free time playing golf, rooting for Bay Area sports teams (especially the 49ers and A's), travelling the world, and spending time with the pride of his life, his three grandchildren. He was very much looking forward to the arrival of his first great grandchild after the New Year.
Over the years he was proud to be a member of many organizations including: Caledonian Club of San Francisco, Sons In Retirement Branch No. 144, Hornitos Masonic Lodge #98, The Scottish Rite in Stockton, AAHMES Shriners, Modesto Shrine Club, Retired Teachers Association, The Forty and Eight, and Veterans of Foreign Wars
Post 9454. He was also a past Commander at the American Legion Post 74. Additionally, he was a former member of the Sylvan Club, The Elks Lodge
, The Old Fishermans Club, Silver Panthers, and a charter member of Modesto's SOS Club. He was also proud to be a member at the Grace Lutheran Church in Modesto.
Bobbie was preceded in death by father Charles W. Harvey, mother Jewel Wells Harvey, and sister Dolores Rosen. He is survived by his wife of 64 years Patsy Barrett Harvey, his daughters Nancy (Dr Charles) Richards and Tam (Andrew) Faukner, his grandchildren Amanda (Peter) Sahlstrom, Benjamin Harvey Faukner and Paul Richards.
Over the past few years Bobbie has been going through some dificult health problems and his family would like to thank all of his doctors that took great care of him and especially the nurses at Doctor's Hospital in Modesto that were wonderful to him during his final days.
