Cheryl Brand Obituary
DECEMBER 21, 1956 ~ JULY 27, 2014
Cheryl (Rogalsky) Brand, 57, of Modesto, CA went to be with her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ in heaven on Sunday, July 27, 2014. Cheryl courageously battled breast cancer and metastases since March 2007 and passed peacefully at her home in the presence of husband Greg and daughters Katrina, Rebecca, Rachel, and their spouses.
Cheryl was born on Dec. 21, 1956 to John and Frances Rogalsky in Reedley, CA.
Cheryl was very athletic: swim team, water polo, basketball, cheerleading. She was a 3-time Presidential Physical Fitness award recipient from Presidents Johnson, Nixon, and Ford. She enjoyed life! Cheryl met Greg in 1981 and it was love at first sight.
Cheryl graduated from CSU, Fresno and earned her School Nurse RN, BSN credential. Cheryl and Greg moved to Modesto in 1987 and became members of Modesto Covenant Church in 1988. Cheryl loved children and was committed to serving children in many ways: raising 3 beautiful daughters, working for Sylvan Union School District for 18 years, and personally ministering and caring for children at church and in the neighborhood.
Cheryl was passionate about living a spirit-filled, God honoring life, reflecting Jesus in her heart. She was graceful, generous, courageous, compassionate, and non-judgmental. This inspired her family to be passionate followers of Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour.
Survivors include husband Greg; daughters and sons-in-law, Katrina and Richard White, Rebecca and David Gordon (grandchildren, Mary and Annabel), Rachel and Grant Bridgman. Siblings: Peggy Foster (Jim), Scott Rogalsky (Kelly), and Ann Guerrero (Randy). Parents: John and Frances Rogalsky.
A Memorial service in honor of Cheryl will be on Saturday, August 9, 2014 at 2:00 p.m.

What a legacy Cheryl has left you! A wonderful wife, mother, and friend. She was truly beautiful inside and out and carried such an outstanding testimony to all those who met her. Cheryl, was always kind hearted. We would see her at Somerset Middle school. She would inquire how we were doing! She is a light that will be missed. Her spirit in her eyes gave us great joy! She is no longer in pain and now resides in a heavenly place-thank you for touching our lives Cheryl. We are better soldiers for Christ knowing a sweet spirit like yours can show the great commission of Christ.

Brand family. We were saddened to hear of Cheryl's passing on Sunday. Lesa and I remember dinner groups and how we got to know each other and our families. Cheryl always had a smile on her face and was such a gentle person. We will miss her greatly, but heaven gained a wonderful angel. She is free of her suffering and rejoicing with Jesus. Cheryl was a wonderful person as well as a school nurse. She always brought such warmth and caring to all of those around her. I will totally miss sharing a laugh with her from time to time. While we mourn the loss of a friend, colleague and family member on earth, heaven celebrates the arrival of an angel. I am so blessed to have known Cheryl and am a better person because of it.
