Mary J. Pimentel, a resident of Turlock, passed away Dec. 1st at the age of 87. She was born in Santa Maria, CA.  Mary worked as a secretary for Foster Farms in Livingston for over 50 years. Upon retiring she was very active as a volunteer for United Samaritans Foundation and traveled to several foreign countries and Canada. She loved her travels. Mary was an avid bowler and held office several years in the California Woman's Bowling Association.
Mary was a charter member of Antoinette Institute # 193 and Young Ladies Institute (YLI) in Hughson-Ceres. She joined the Institute when it was first organized on May 15th, 1949 and was elected Grand President in 1965. Mary was also honored in 2005 as she celebrated her 40-year Jubilee. She was extremely active through her 63 years and will be missed by her sisters from Antoinette, Grand Officers, and Past Grand Presidents of the Young Ladies Institute.
Mary was preceded in death by her father, Frank F. Pimentel, mother, Mary Freitas Pimentel and her brother Joe Pimentel. She is survived by her brother Frank Pimentel from Rancho Palos Verdes, CA and many nieces and nephews. Mary was a true lady that will be missed by all family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Thurs., Dec. 6th from 2:00pm - 6:00pm at Turlock Funeral Home, 425 N. Soderquist Rd. Rosary will be held on Friday, Dec. 7th, at 11:00am at Saint Anthony's Catholic Church in Hughson, followed by mass at 11:30am.  Interment to follow at Turlock Memorial Park.
