KAY MARIE BYERS NOV 27, 1940 - NOV 3, 2010 Kay Marie (Clawson) Byers, age 69 of Turlock, CA died on November 3, 2010 in her Son's home after a long battle with Dementia. She was born on November 27, 1940 in Dearborn, MI to the late Betty and the late William (Bill) Clawson. She was the oldest of three children. She was married to the late Jon L. Byers for 40 years. As an Air Force wife, she lived in the Philippines. As a civilian, she lived in Denver, CO and El Cerrito, CA before settling in Modesto, CA in 1978. Once settled she began working for Keyes School as an administrator and worked there for 24 years making many friends and helping countless children. Kay loved music. She sang opera in her younger years and continued singing in her Church Choirs throughout her life. She also became a Deacon at her Church with her Husband Jon; both devout Christians. She was a loving Wife, Mother and Grandmother. Kay always put her family first and will be greatly missed. She is survived by her son Douglas and her daughter-in-law Allison, her daughter Kristen and her son-in-law Dan and five grandchildren: Cristina, Ashley, Nicole, Brandon and Joshua. A visitation will be held at the Lakewood Funeral Home in Hughson on November 10th from 4:00-8:00 pm. The funeral service will be at The Lakewood Funeral Chapel in Hughson on November 11th at 2:00 pm followed by a reception at the Hughson Senior Center.
