Betty Liston Obituary

BETTY JO LISTON OCT. 12, 1939-OCT.4, 2010 Betty Liston, a California native, was born in Hanford on October 12, 1939 and succumbed to a lengthy illness at the age of 70 on October 4, 2010. She was the eldest of 8 children of Arthur & Eva Higdon. She proudly served in the Air Force (from 1958 to 1961), where she met her husband Frank Liston. She was married to Frank on September 1, 1962 in Las Vegas, NV. They moved to Modesto in 1977. Betty was a devoted wife, mother, and artist. She received a BA in Fine Arts from CSU Stanislaus. She enjoyed painting and creating sculptures in various mediums. However, she felt her finest artistic achievement were her daughter and son. Betty also had a keen interest in current events, loved to debate political issues and was an avid fan of movies. Betty is survived by her husband, Frank, daughter, Robin Liston, and son, Marc Liston (Aracely). She is also survived by siblings Bobby Higdon, Ruby Hennessey, Ronnie Higdon (Stephanie), David Higdon, John Higdon (Marilea), Linda Michel (Ed), and Linett Higdon. She was preceded in death by her parents. Visitation will be at Turlock Funeral Home 425 N. Soderquist Rd. on Sat., Oct. 9 at 9:00 AM, followed by services at 11:00 AM. Military burial will be at the San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery on Mon., Oct. 11 at 10:00 AM. Please leave your condolences with www.modbee.com/obituaries www.turlockmemorialpark.com
