Billy Neil Brewer went home to be with the Lord on November 1, 2013. He passed away peacefully at his home in Hickman with his loved ones by his side. Billy graduated from Oakdale High School and continued his education at MJC for one year before leaving the valley to serve in the Navy Reserves and was in active duty in the United States Navy for 2 years. He worked as an electrician and office manager for the IBEW Local 684, and was a charter member of the First Southern Baptist Church in Waterford. He was an avid outdoorsmen, a life member of the NRA, and a Boy Scout Leader in Waterford. Billy is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Verna (Shepherd) Brewer, 3 children: Daniel Brewer of Denair, Timothy (Cinda) Brewer of San Jose, and Patti (Dave) Habeck of Waterford, 3 grandchildren: Zachery (Marci) Couch, Jacob (Tracy) Couch, and Sarah Brewer, 5 great-grandchildren, 2 sisters: Laura Peters and Betty Hugg, and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services are as follows: graveside service will be held at Lakewood Memorial Park in Hughson, on Friday, Nov. 8th at 9:30am. followed by a Celebration of Life at the First Southern Baptist Church, 132 E. St., in Waterford at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers remembrances may be made to the First Southern Baptist Church, 132 E. St., Waterford Ca. 95386, or Community Hospice, 4368 Spyres Way, Modesto Ca. 95356.
