Clyde Woods Obituary

CLYDE LEWIS WOODS JUN 30, 1939 - OCT 19, 2010 C Dub (CW), as many of his friends knew him, died Tuesday Oct 19, 2010 at the age of 71. He was doing the thing he loved the most, riding around working on the ranch. It was ahobby to most, but he loved gardening and watching things grow. Of course the weeds had to be pulled, too. It did not matter that they made spray for killing weeds; he enjoyed the feeling of pulling an area of weeds and the great sense of accomplishment he received from it. He also enjoyed fishing and camping. Some of his fondest memories are from camping trips at Frenchman's Lake and Mc Swain Reservoir. He loved to troll fish for trout, but would fish for anything if the fish were biting. Born in Henrietta, OK, he moved to California as a child during the Dust Bowl. He lived in Riverbank and Oakdale most of his life. He worked at Circle AW Products in Modesto for many years. He is survived by his companion Judy Mitchell, his children Randy, Ronnie, Ricky and Robyn, along with his extended family Michelle, Ron and Rena, 22 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. A memorial service will be on Tuesday, Oct. 26, at Oakdale Memorial Chapel at 6:00 pm. www.modbee.com/obituaries

As I read the Modesto Bee today, I was sad to read that Clyde passed away. Clyde was my fathers best friend for many, many years. Clyde helped my father through a lot of tough times and was always there for him, good or bad. That was Clyde's biggest attribute, I believe, being a loyal and very giving person. I want Judy and Clyde's kids to know that he was a special man to my family for loving my Dad for the person he was and being there for him. He will be truly missed. God Bless you all during this difficult time.
