I was just searching Facebook to see if I could find Dan. He is one of those people you don't see for a long time but once you do, it is like no time ever passed. We worked together for years at Winterland Productions in SF and also with Hard Rock Hotel t-shirt accounts. This is so sad and untimely. Please accept my heartfelt condolences.

Maureen - I don't know if this will get to you or not - but I will try to find you soon. I was looking for you on facebook and Danny's obituary popped up, that included the news about Tim and Sharon. I am stunned and saddened. know that the O'Haras have stayed close to our hearts for all these years.

Maureen,
I am one of Dans old Delta Sigma Phi brothers at FSU. I met him, of course, when I pledged. We became fast friends along with Frazee and Ba-Ba Bitner.
I was a guest at your home in Southfield more than once and the thing I remember most was what an inclusive family you were. Your mom and Dad even let Dan take the Lincoln, with suicide doors, down to Notre Dame one weekend.
I could go on and on. I am so sad that we never connected after college...Life is that way.
Let me say my life is richer because of my great friend Danny O'Hara

I am in shock right now! I just found out about this by my daughter coming across the obituary looking for Dans phone number to reconnect after to long. My two daughters and I worked with Dan in the pie trailer the first two years he had it. We cleaned his house. We became fast friends. Dan was like that, it didn't matter where you came from, what you had been through, or how you had met. He saw people for the good in them, and helped you to see the good in yourself and your life. We shared a love of dogs, coffee, and chocolate. Oh yes, and good music. When we were at the fairs Dan was the man, everyone knew him, and all wanted to tell you what a great man he was. I had not spoken to him since he canceled a date to watch me give the valedictorian speech during my AS graduation ceremony. I am truly saddened, shocked, and so sorry for his family. He will be missed by all, his zest for life and desire to make the world a better place are so rare that his passing will leave an empty space in the world. I am so sorry so much time had passed, I loved you Dan and we will all miss you so much...

You were always Danny to me and I was so shocked and saddened that I had lost my oldest and dearest friend. From the first time I met you in eighth grade math class we instantly became best frindds. You were such an unbelievable friend....always caring for others and always making us laugh. I remember all the crazy stuff we did and the fun we had in high school, Ferris, Scottsdale when you would come for spring training and Morris and my visit to California when we went to wine country. We laughed so hard I peed my pants! That was the best time.
My heart goes out to your family and friends and you will be greatly missed.
I LOVE YOU Danny....JuJu Bees

Dan was a true friend of mine, from when we first met in high school, his family was my family, Bobby and Cappy took us in at all hours, spent plenty of hours on Magnolia Parkway, eating your Moms roast beef sandwich, Midnight Mass, even though I am Jewish, we had a ball. Always enjoyed visiting Dan in Sa Ra Ca. he always went out of his way to show you a good time. Daniel George, Mark O'Hara, you will truely be missed, I'm proud to have known you and your family, you will always be remembered and I hope at the family reunion to see your sisters and nieces and nephews, we will all cry together to remember your life. We also were so shocked and saddened to hear of Dan’s sudden passing. He was a truly nice guy, a class act, with a twinkle in his eye and a smile on his face, generous and genuine. It is so very sad to think we will never have the pleasure of seeing him again; it was always such a joy to run into him. Our condolences to his family.

I have not seen Dan in years, but I always considered him a friend. I would think of him sometimes when I watched the SF Giants (that was one of his accounts when we worked together)and always figured he was having a great time somewhere. To his family and friends who will feel this loss so acutely - may his memory be a blessing, I know it is to me.

Dan the Man. We will miss him. I first met him almost 40 years ago in Sausalito. His smile and wit and kindness were hard to duplicate.(Might I add that he was quite the handsome guy driving around in his Alfa Romea.) He lit up the room when he walked in and always had a way to make you feel good. He was kind and generous.A good friend who cared about others. We tooled around marin togther sharing loves and loves lost. I worked for him and years later he worked for me. We stayed connected over many years because I knew he was a special person that you don't let go . His sparkling blue eyes matched his sparkling spirit. We were fortunate to have known him.
Sending love and hugs to all his friends and family. Peace. Lori Martin

Tons of love to Dan's family. I didn't know him well, but sometimes it doesn't take knowing someone well to know how great they are. My prayers and thoughts are with his family.

I'll miss that smile and "Hey" as I walked in his door
I'll miss his calm demeanor and way of making others feel at home no matter where they were.
To his family I wish my most sincere condolences, for no matter what the loss I feel for my friend It isn't nearly the loss you feel for your brother, uncle, and confidant.
Dan O'Hara was one of a kind.

I am blessed to have called Dan my friend. He was an amazing human being...his door and heart were always open...His smile was infectious, his laugh contagious. Anyone that knew Dan, loved him.
The last time I talked to him, he called just to tell me how great my kids were..."You're doing something right. Keep it up!" Who does that? Dan did; always positive, always hopefull, my good friend. I miss him.
My condolences to all who loved him.

To Dan's family and family of friends, I am so sorry and sad. I am shocked. He and I had just recently reconnected after several years and I spent 4th of July weekend at the fair with him-- he was truly Mr. Fair, loved by all. I have a photo of us in the Chiquita Banana booth that I will treasure always. Dan was an extraordinary man, my children loved him, he taught them so much and we all shared so many good times together -- Tahoe skiing, waterskiing on Lake Tulloch, playing with the dogs, Giants games in Scottsdale...so many great memories. He brought so much joy to so many. I miss him and send all of his family my heartfelt prayers.

To all who loved Dan. I was shocked to read of his passing. We met in the park with our dogs, and became fast friends! Our dogs played together and I told him I,m a massage therapist he said I know you. I've been trying to get into see you. Well he became a client and a friend! He for the past few yrs got a group of us in the fair took us around on the cart and introduced us to all his vendors. He was such a real person so easy to know. We will all miss him deeply. I pray that his family find GODS PEACE through this time.Only by HIS LOVE can we be comforted. Keeping you all in my prayers. May the peace of GOD be with you all. I cant be at his service. I hope to have something here in Modesto. If any of you friends and family have a get together please let me know. Thank-You

I was blessed to call Dan my friend. I came across a poem by Ralph Waldo Emerson that, to me, describes Dan perfectly.
"To laugh often and much; To win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; To earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty; To find the best in others; To leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded."
I love you.

To Dan's family, what a tremendous loss, I worked with Dan for 8 years and he was a blessing in disguise. Always knowing the right thing to say, making me laugh, yet giving encouraging advice or just engaging conversation. I will truly miss him and our monthly chats. HE was a great friend, mentor and colleague. God bless you and your family through this time.
