Emery Fernow

EMERY FERNOW NOV 12, 1947 - SEP 25, 2010 Emery Fernow, 62, of North Las Vegas, passed away Sept. 25, 2010. He was born Nov. 12, 1947, in Modesto, CA, and was a 16-year resident of Nevada. Emery was a retired Campbell's Soup line supervisor. He was active in Modesto rose gardening clubs. Emery was also an aide to his partner, Bob, at Modesto High School, in a self-contained special education class for numerous years in California. He was a member of the College Ave Congregational Church. In North Las Vegas, he was a neighborhood watch captain and was well known by the neighbors. Emery was active in the Rose Garden Club of Las Vegas for many years. He was honored as the Tops Club, Inc., Nevada King in 2007, and served as an elected officer of Tops NV0098, Las Vegas, until his death. Those that really knew Emery, loved him. His untimely death was due to acute pancreatitis. Emery is survived by his sister, Sharon (Kirk) Walser; and niece, Lisa, both of Modesto; as well as his domestic partner of 33 years, Bob Welch of North Las Vegas.
