Frances Hiatt Obituary

FRANCES HIATT JULY 14, 1933 - OCT 5, 2010 Frances Hiatt, age 77, passed away Tuesday, October 5, 2010. She and her husband Rev. Ralph Hiatt served with Assemblies of God World Missions for 46 years, 36 of those years in Argentina where their three sons; Ron of Felton, CA, Tim of Riverbank, CA, and Mike of Seattle, WA, were raised. While in Argentina, Frances served as national president of the Missionettes, an organization helping thousands of girls grow into maturity with Christian training, dignity and purpose. Viewing will be at Salas Brothers Funeral Chapel, 419 Scenic Drive, Modesto Tuesday October 12 from 4 PM to 8 PM. Her funeral and life celebration will be Wednesday, 10 AM at Bethel Church, 2361 Scenic Drive. Burial will be 10 AM Thursday, October 14 at Cherokee Memorial Cemetery in Lodi (exit Harney Rd.). Rev. Ralph Hiatt will greatly miss his faithful wife of over 58 years. Beside her husband and sons, Frances is survived by daughters-in-law, Elisabet Hiatt, Mary Hiatt and Cheryl Hiatt and grandchildren Michelle and Evan. Carol and I will always remember Aunt Frances as the sweetest aunt a person could have. She had a cute humor and could ask questions in a way that made us think, but did not offend. We thank God for family like her and Uncle Ralph and look forward to her memorial in Portland latter this month.

Aunt Frances was one of the most godly and wonderful women I have met. She loved me unconditionally. I could talk to her as a close friend and I would sense that she understood where I was coming from. I am so thankful she was my friend and auntie by marriage. What a blessing to my life she was. I will remember her with the fondest of memories.

Aunt Frances, I am more than certain that you have been greeted with a "well done, faithful servant, well done!" You are amazing, strong, principled, and fun, and many other positive and endearing words describe you. What a privilege to know you and be inspired by you.

Uncle Ralph, you are in so many peoples' prayers and hearts right now. Your faith, encouragement, hope, and hilarious sense of humor during this unspeakable loss are a source of inspiration for many. You and Aunt Frances have changed thousands upon thousands of lives, and I have no doubt that you will continue to do so.
