John D. Nugent

John passed away surrounded by family at Memorial Hospital of age related issues. He was born in Perkins, Oklahoma, to Elmer and Gertrude Nugent. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. After the war, he moved to Modesto and lived there until his passing. He retired from Tri-Valley Canneries. John loved fishing and camping with his family and many friends. He was also a Jack-of-all-trades, and loved working with his hands. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Billie, of 60 years, a son, Denny Nugent (Laurie), two daughters, Koni Nugent and Jean Scott (Kenneth), eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by all of us. He was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers, two sisters, and a son, Johnny Villines. A memorial service will be held at Lakewood Memorial Park in Hughson on Saturday, March 8, at 11:00 A.M. In lieu of flowers, please donate to .
