My husband and I were very sad to hear of your mom's passing. We talked to her last at the Julio Iglesias show at the Gallo Center. We have known her for years through St. Stanislaus Church and Modesto High. She was a wonderful person, dedicated teacher and much more. Your dad was in my class all through St. Stanislaus School and Modesto High. We had great fun with him in our Catholic Teen Christopher Club. Our condolences to your family for this great loss.

I was very saddened to learn of Loretta's passing. I truly will miss her. I met Loretta when she started exercising at Curve's. I always loved her smile and how she said "Good morning Gloria." I hadn't been to Curves in a couple of weeks and when I went in today I saw the announcement and the card Curves received. I am truly sorry for your loss. I just wanted you to know that Loretta was a fun person who enjoyed talking with us all at Curves. She would take the zuchini I brought from my home garden and then the next day she would tell me she had sauteed it with a little butter and that it was delicious, she would say. I miss her and am so happy that I did get to know her. My condolences.

Suzanne & Kathy (and all the family),
We are stunned to learn of the passing of Loretta.
As one of the few AFS Intercultural Programs, Inc./USA representatives in Modesto (our group has shrunk significantly), I want to express our sorrow to you on the loss of your mother.
Getting to know Loretta and your Dad and all of you through AFS was very special and has provided lasting memories. We appreciated the use of your home at times with our group and Loretta's help with the organization. Even later, when she wasn't active, she expressed interest in how things were going.
Please know that our thoughts are with you at this time. We remember your family fondly.

Kathleen and Suzanne,
Each year since our mother passed away in 1998, a note would arrive at my house each holiday season saying Loretta Wend had contributed a light to the Hospice Tree in memory of her Aunt Ann. That touched me every time, and I always made sure my brothers and sisters knew of her kind gesture. This year I will do it for your mother.

Kathy,
I am deeply saddened by the passing of your mother. Loretta truly struck me as one of the most vibrant and happy women. Her smile and warmth made her such a joy to be around.. As the years went on and I had the pleasure of becoming friends with you, I would see her at your home or at gatherings. Again and again, always vibrant and smiling! You know what a treasure you have in her, and those memories are something you will cherish forever. I know it is an incredible loss even with those wonderful memories, for you will miss being able to pick up the phone to chat, to sit and share a meal, or the greatest gift of all--watching her with your children. May you be comforted with all of your beautiful memories and with the loving support and prayers that I--and so many other--are sending to you, Suzanne and your families. Remember that she is smiling down on you and that her legacy will live on in you and your boys.

I was deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Loretta. I know how difficult this must be for you.
I remember how much my late wife Sabina Fink loved Loretta and how much fun they had visiting during and after their weekly hair appointments at Jack’s. She will always be in our memories and hearts. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
Most sincerely,

Kathy and Suzy, I feel privileged to have been part of your family for all of these years. You two are very fortunate to have had such an inspirational and influential mother in your lives. Just looking through all of the pictures has brought back so many wonderful memories. Your mother’s courage and determination will be carried on through you and your children. She touched all that knew her. Keep your heads up and always keep her in your thoughts. I know I will never forget her.

Mrs. Wend was my 6th grade teacher. I remember how much passion she had for teaching. She always came to school with a smile on her face and she told the class once that she loved getting up everyday to teach us. I loved her 'estimation jar' best of all. She always filled it with candy or little toys and we got to guess how many treats were inside. Of course the closest student got to have the jar. It seems so simple, but it really was special. When I was having a hard time in school, I invited her to my birthday party at Roller King. I didn't think she'd come, but she did. It was like having a celebrity come to my party. I remember she gave me a red and white striped, Mickey Mouse tank top. It was so special. I'll never forget you Mrs. Wend! Rest in peace with Jesus!
Love,
Lori

Our deepest sympathy to the Wend family. Mrs Wend was my son's teacher at St. Stanislaus School and although we didn't hit it off right, we both grew to understand each other and became friends. Mrs Wend will always be remembered with that big smile of hers. Our prayers are with you and know that your Mother is resting in God's peace.

I met your mom at Bereaved Parents support group at Hospice, over 20 years ago. (My son, Jeff, died in a car accident two weeks after your dear brother.) Your mom was so sweet and caring. Every Christmas during our Candle Lighting ceremony, she always brought each mother a flower, in memory of their child. You could tell how much she loved your father and you girls. I smile when I think of her being together with your brother and dad. You are in my prayers.

Kathy and Suzanne just know that some of my very best childhood memories surround your family. Your Dad, Mom, Steve and all of us girls pruning and tying grapes. We made work so fun. After, it was swimming and many dinners together! I will never forget your Dad's laugh and the sweetness of your Mom. Your parents were awesome people and my sister and I were lucky to share some of the best years with them.
From the Hamilton family, please know that you are in our hearts and our thoughts.

Kathy, Suzanne, and Family,
I first met Loretta over 10 years ago when I taught at St. Stanislaus Catholic School. I taught 4th and Loretta taught 5th. I remember Loretta had a tough time remembering my name so she always called me "Rita." When she finally got my name right... I didn't know she was talking to me. heehee
One of our favorite things to do together was plan our "Mother's Day Tea." We often joked around saying that when she was ready to retire I would be ready to move-on as well. And sure enough... we both left St. Stan's the same year.
I remember when you girls were planning her surprise birthday party and I was her "escape goat." We were at my house scrapbooking (of course) and I could not get her to leave! It was a nice surprise and we all had a good time when she finally arrived a few hours late!!
You girls and her grankids were her LIFE!
She was truly an amazing lady and good friend.
I will miss her deeply,

Suzanne and Kathy,
I can't even begin to tell you how very sorry I am. Your mother was an amazing woman. I have so many wonderful memories of us out at the ranch! Irrigating, swimming and just hanging out. You were so very lucky to have such a wonderful, funny, loving, and outgoing mother. She is going to be missed so much. You both know how much I love you. I am here for you anytime for anything.
Much love and friendship

Kathleen, Suzanne, Susie and family - I have so many
wonderful memories, of all the years we cousins spent
on Stoddard and Dale Roads, working on our father's
farms together. Even though it was hard work, we
always found time to laugh and play and many times
ended up in the "bunkhouse" on the Stoddard ranch.
Your mother/sister's smile would light up our days!
We are so grateful to have all shared the big family
reunion last October at her ranch, and will miss her
warmth, loving nature and big smile. Our prayers
are with you all.
