Madge Malone Obituary

MADGE B. MALONE AUG 15, 1921 - DEC 22, 2010 Madge Barbara Malone was born to R.S. Lawrence and Beatrice (Trix) Jorgensen in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Her family moved from Canada to Oakland, Ca, when she was very young and after several years they moved to Modesto, Ca, where her father owned and operated a service station. She graduated from Modesto High School in 1939 and the following year she married the love of her life, Robert (Bob) Malone. She worked as a bookkeeper for many years so she could help her husband raise and support their family. She was a good Mother and Grandmother that cherished time with her family. She enjoyed making quilts for each of her children and granchildren and loved playing cards, crossword puzzles and games of many kinds with family and friends. She took pride in and loved it that so many of her children and grandchildren enjoyed being involved in school activities such as art, music, and sports. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Gene Lawrence, and her dear husband of 50 years Bob Malone. She is survived by her Sisters, Frankee Tanner and Billie Deering, and Sister-In-Law Ruth Lawrence; her Daughters, Barbara (Gary) Gillen, Sharon Thomas, and Kathy (Paul) Gardner; 10 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, and many nieces and nephews. We all love her still and will cherish all the fond memories of our ''Grandma Malone.'' Funeral Services will be held Monday, January 3 at Lakewood Funeral Home at 2:00 PM. www.modbee.com/obituaries
