MARIA AMELIA DA SILVA JUL 7, 1924 - OCT 20, 2010 Maria Amelia Da Silva age 86 of Patterson passed away Wednesday at Doctors Medical Center in Modesto. Mrs. Da Silva was a native of Pico, Azores and a resident of Patterson for 14 years, she previously resided in Pico, Azores. She was a Homemaker for 66 years and was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Patterson. She enjoyed crocheting, cooking, playing cards and camping. Mrs. Da Silva is survived by her sons, Manuel Fernando Melo, Joao Herberto Melo both of Pico, Azores; daughter, Margarida Paulo of Patterson; brother, Antonio Gaspar of Pico, Azores; 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joao Silveira De Melo. A visitation will be held 5:00 to 7:00 pm, Monday, October 25th followed by a Rosary at 7:00 pm at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Patterson. A second visitation will be held at 9:00 am, Tuesday, October, 26th followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
