Mario Caputi

MARIO CAPUTI Mario Caputi, age 88, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 28. He was born in Union City, New Jersey, to Ignazio and Cecilia Caputi. As a young man, he came west with his older brother Art to eventually settle in Modesto, California. He married Ada Ozbic on February 12, 1977, sharing 34 years together as partners in life, hand in hand. He retired at the age of 77 after 50 years as a plant engineer for Circle A-W Products (later B-Line Cooper). In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by his children Loretta Pumphrey, Marykay Gilbert, Michael and Ray Caputi, his grandson Joey Caputi, granddaughters Heather and Alexis, and great granddaughter Jayden. He also leaves behind many other extended family members and close friends. The youngest and last surviving son, he was preceded in death by his brothers Salvatore, Arturo, Emilio, Daniel and Armando and his two sisters Katherine Vierra and Ida McCarthy. A memorial service will be held at Lakewood Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 900 Santa Fe Avenue, Hughson, California, on Saturday, October 2 at 5 PM.
