Mary Morris Obituary

MARY A. MORRIS OCT 1918 ~ OCT 2010 Mary Morris, 92, of Turlock passed away at Turlock Nursing and Rehabilitation on Tuesday, October 19. She was born in New Bedford, MA to Joseph and Mary Bento in 1918. She had lived in Benicia, CA and Crows Landing before settling in Turlock in 1957. The family had owned dairies in Crows Landing and Turlock. Mary had worked for Banquet Foods for 21 years before retiring. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She also was a member of YLI, UPPEC, Supreme Counsel of IDES, and SPRSI. She enjoyed traveling and playing bingo. Mary is survived by her children Richard (Carol) Morris, Judith (Frank) Mattis, Jo Dean (Gene) Hart all of Turlock, and Sandra (Terry) Woodward of Florence, OR; brother Tony (Oleta) Bento of Mounds, OK; grandchildren Donald Mattis, Karen Firestine, Stephanie Morris, Robert Woodward, Eric Hart, Brian Hart, Danielle Avila, and ten great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Joe J. Morris. A visitation will be at Allen Mortuary on Sunday, October 24 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. The Rosary will follow. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Monday, October 25 at 12:00 p.m. with burial following at Turlock Memorial Park.
