My Grandpa.

To everyone else he was known as Pop, but to me he was Grandpa. I think he made the most of the dash between the date of birth and the date of death. He enjoyed traveling, camping, hunting (at one time) and fishing. His favorite travels were his 3 trips to Alaska. He enjoyed Yosemite, Yellowstone Park, Bryce Canyon and the desert. They collected rocks and cactus. I think what Grandpa liked best about collecting rocks was the challenge it took to get a huge rock home. Grandpa never had a problem, only a challenge. During the war when gasoline was rationed, Grandpa invented a motor than ran on oil. He also told me that he thought of the dimmer switch before it was invented.
He was very artistic and talented in photography and music. He played the piano, organ, harmonica and accordion. He played the piano while the family sang Christmas carols. He belonged to the camera club for many years. Thankfully, he has left us with many years worth of memories and pictures of the family and the many trips they took. He won many ribbons and awards for his photography. Grandpa and Gran'ma gave me very good childhood memories that I will always appreciate. My goal is to be as good of a grandparent to my grandchildren as they were to me. He will be missed by our whole family. Love you Grandpa.. Sherrie
