Dear Family,
I am so very sorry for your loss.
Rod was a classsmate of mine at Escalon High School and a beautiful young man in so many ways. He was intelligent and charming with a marvelous self-deprecating sense of humor. In addition to his many gifts and talents, he was a versatile and talented multi-sport athlete making him truly a joy for all of us girls to watch all year long!
While our lives took different paths following graduation, I know his life must have touched many in significant ways. He will not be forgotten.
With love and sincere condolences,
Nancy(Pereira)Porteous Thomas

My deepest condolences go out to your family. I will always remember Rodney as a shining star, someone that I had the great honor of knowing and loving. So many great memories of Rodney and his family. I will always remember my youth in the home of Betty and On Lowe. So much love and laughter. Go with God Rodney and may your family find peace.

Dear Lowe Family,
Sorry to hear of Rod's passing. I was raised in Escalon and have great memories of cheering Rod and his team mates on to victory. May your memories help sustain you through this difficult time. Rest In Peace Rod.

I am so sorry for your loss. I worked with Rod when he taught in W. Sacramento. He was a wonderful teacher and had a gift for reaching difficult students. He was very respected and well liked by everyone on the staff. Many of us often told him he would make a great principal. He had real leadership skills. I am honored to have worked with him.

Be Still
Be still like the grass on a melancholy summer day
Be still like desert shrub.
Be calm and you will hear your loved one speak, in the stillness, in the calm, their love resounds.
If you are still this promise I make, you will hear the voice of your loved one helping you along your way.

In My Pocket
I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.
My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.
They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.
Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.
But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.

He was a good man. He loved his family and was a wonderful friend. He nurtured people and always tried to help anyone in need. His energy was contagious.
I was lucky to know him.
