ROSE MARY SILVA AUG 1925 - OCT 2010 Rose Mary Silva, 85, a long-time resident of Hilmar, passed away at her residence on Tuesday, October 26, 2010. She was born 1925 in Modesto to the late John and Lucinda Bettencourt. She married Frank James Silva in 1945 and they operated a dairy farm in Crows Landing until they relocated the dairy in Hilmar in 1968. She was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Hilmar. Rose enjoyed her garden, socializing and loved birds. She is survived by her children, Bernadette Buehner of Boise, ID, Richard Silva and Frank Silva Jr. both of Hilmar, Elizabeth Finseth of Modesto, Michael Silva and Timothy Silva both of Hilmar, and Kathleen Silva of Hilmar; 3 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren. Rose is also survived by her sisters, Inez Gomes of Tracy and Rita Borba of Turlock; brothers, Manuel Bettencourt of Turlock and Alfred Bettencourt of Modesto. She is preceded in death by her husband Frank, daughter Rosemary, 1 sister and 2 brothers. The family will receive friends from 3 to 5p.m. on Sunday, October 31st at Allen Mortuary. A Rosary/Mass will be held at 10:00am on Monday, November 1st at Holy Rosary Catholic Church with burial to follow at Hills Ferry Cemetery in Newman, CA.
